Province Appoints Alternate Member to Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Board

The province has named Paul Taylor as Nova Scotia's alternate member of the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Board.

Mr. Taylor, a former deputy minister, spent 27 years with the province. Originally trained as a geologist, Mr. Taylor joined government after completing his MBA. He worked at the departments of Mines and Energy, Natural Resources, Petroleum Directorate, Energy and Economic Development.

"Mr. Taylor's years of experience and knowledge in the province's oil and gas sector make him an excellent appointment," said Energy Minister Bill Estabrooks.

The board has five members -- two from the province, two appointed by the government of Canada, and a chair who is jointly appointed.

The board's two full-time members for the province are Tim Brownlow and Keith Evans.
