Premier Offers Best Wishes To Mr. MacDonald

Premier Darrell Dexter extended best wishes and thanks to former premier Rodney MacDonald today, June 24, after Mr. MacDonald announced he is stepping down as leader of the Progressive Conservative party.

"I want to personally thank Mr. MacDonald for his work on behalf of Nova Scotians," said Premier Dexter. "While we may have disagreed on policy, I have never doubted his commitment to the people of the province.

"I also want to acknowledge the former premier for his efforts to bring attention to healthy living and other similar initiatives that helped Nova Scotians live healthier lives."

Premier Dexter also wished Mr. MacDonald continued success in representing the people of Inverness in the House of Assembly.
