Film Nova Scotia to Hold Free Screening of Outlander

Film Nova Scotia (Nov. 2007 - Nov. 2012)

Film Nova Scotia and Empire Theatres will host a free screening of the feature film Outlander on Thursday, June 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the Oxford Theatre.

Outlander was filmed in Nova Scotia in 2006 and stars James Caviezel as a futuristic soldier who crash lands on Earth with a hellish, fire-breathing monster in a time of warring Viking tribes. Fusing advanced technology with Iron Age weaponry, he must unite the fierce Vikings and hunt the beast before it kills them all. The film also features actors Ron Perlman, Sophia Myles and John Hurt.

Writer and director Howard McCain, executive producer and writer Dirk Blackman, and producer Don Carmody will be at the screening, along with members of the cast and crew, to introduce the film and answer audience questions after the screening.

Screening Nights, a partnership between Empire Theatres and Film Nova Scotia, are held three times a year and allow local audiences to see films made in Nova Scotia and local film makers to promote their work.
