NOTE: A list of events featured at the CATCH Nova Scotia Seafood Festival is available at www.novascotiaseafoodfestival.ca .

Consumers who want to experience seafood from catch to cooking will enjoy the lineup at the CATCH Nova Scotia Seafood Festival on June 27 and 28 at the Cunard Centre.

Festival events will let people of all ages experience a variety of seafood, local foods and wine. Guided by hosts such as Food Network's Anna Olsen and Dr. Alex Richardson, a leading expert in the role of Omega-3 fatty acids, CATCH will offer a comprehensive culinary Nova Scotia seafood experience.

"If you are ever challenged with how to prepare seafood, CATCH will help you learn," said Scott Hosking, director of marketing services, Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture. "CATCH is designed to be very hands-on for both kids and adults. There are opportunities to attend tastings, pair seafood with wine, learn about the economic and health attributes of seafood and learn about the fishing industry."

Tasting experiences at the festival, from the Wine Lounge to Tutored Tastings, are complimented by Source Local Marketplace, which will help attendees shop for local seafood.

Leading up to the festival, people can get their tastebuds ready with Dine Out Nova Scotia from June 14 to 26. More than two dozen restaurants will add specialty meals to their menus to celebrate the festival.

The inaugural CATCH Seafood Festival is hosted by the Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture, and brings harvesters, producers, processors, restauranteurs and chefs together for an exceptional culinary seafood experience.
