Power of Positive Change Award Deadline Nears

The deadline for nominations for the first annual Premier's Power of Positive Change Award is Tuesday, March 31.

The award program celebrates students who are making a positive difference in their schools and communities.

"It is important that we recognize the leadership many young people are showing, and the contributions they are making to improve the lives of others," said Education Minister Judy Streatch.

Up to 10 students will be awarded a $2,000 bursary for post-secondary studies, apprenticeship training, or other educational opportunities.

Students can be nominated for showing leadership in:

  • promoting safe and positive school environments
  • building social cohesion
  • advancing cultural diversity
  • promoting peace

The awards will be presented by Premier Rodney MacDonald and Education Minister Judy Streatch at a ceremony in June.
