Human Rights Commission closed the office in New Glasgow

The New Glasgow office of the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission will close effective Monday, March 30.

Staff from other offices will continue to provide services to the New Glasgow area. In recent years, changes in the process of the commission has moved the intake and investigation of cases to the Halifax office making it is no longer necessary or effective to maintain the New Glasgow office.

"The Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission will continue to provide all services to the people of New Glasgow and surrounding areas as it does to the rest of the province," said director and CEO Krista Daley. "With the changes in process the last few years the commission is satisfied that there will be no detrimental impact on the services provided to the public."

To ensure the public is well served, all initial contact with the commission will continue to be made to the Halifax office at Toll Free 1-877-269-7699 or TTY 1-866-811-3732.
