Premier To Outline Infrastructure Stimulus
Premier Rodney MacDonald will outline government's infrastructure stimulus plan at a Halifax Chamber of Commerce breakfast on Wednesday, March 11.
Premier MacDonald said the announcement will be an overview of how government plans to create jobs, invest in strategic priorities, maintain fiscal stability and help people get the jobs that are created.
"We will be unveiling investment plans for infrastructure," said Premier MacDonald. "We will have an overall amount and a number of areas where we will make investments."
The premier said that while there will be some specific examples of spending, people shouldn't be expecting a long list of projects to be unveiled Wednesday.
"This is a plan, this is not an announcement of specific projects," said MacDonald. "I will be outlining areas of investment, and explaining how we will be funding these investments.
"There have already been a number of projects put to tender, and over the coming days, there will be more of that."
The premier said the plan will benefit people in all areas of the province, and will not only create jobs, but will leave a lasting legacy.
