Bryson New Crown Attorney in Bridgewater

Leigh-Ann Bryson has been appointed a Crown attorney in the Bridgewater office of the Public Prosecution Service.

The appointment was announced today, March 2, by Martin Herschorn, director of Public Prosecutions.

"I am pleased to have a lawyer with Ms. Bryson's credentials join the PPS team of Crown attorneys," said Mr. Herschorn. "Her experience and abilities make her a valuable addition."

Ms. Bryson's appointment increases the number of Crown attorneys in Bridgewater from two to three.

A Halifax native, Ms. Bryson graduated from Dalhousie law school in 2002 and articled with the Halifax law firm of McInnes Cooper. She joined Nova Scotia Legal Aid in 2003 working out of the Halifax and Truro offices.

While there, Ms. Bryson practiced criminal, family and child protection law and has represented both adult and youth clients before the provincial court and the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia. In 2005, she joined the Department of Justice as a solicitor in the Legal Services division.

Ms. Bryson is a board member of the Cobequid Community Health Board and a member of the Frances Fish Women in Law Awards Organizing Committee.
