Film Nova Scotia and Empire Theatres Screen Bridge Award Films
The province's emerging talent will be showcased as Film Nova Scotia and Empire Theatres hold a free screening of the short films Little Claus and Big Claus, A Cape Breton Ghost Story, Dirty Laundry and Running Into Edna today, Nov. 26, at 7 p.m. at the Oxford Theatre.
The three projects, produced by Paul MacNeill, Sean Doyle, Rob Hagen and Debra Taylor, and Heather Houston were recipients of the CBC/Film Nova Scotia Bridge Award. The award is designed for emerging producers, giving them the opportunity to produce a program for broadcast in the Atlantic region.
The Bridge Award is a great resource for up-and-coming film makers. The screening increases awareness of the program among emerging producers before the Feb. 6 application deadline and also highlights the next generation of Nova Scotia film makers.
Screening Nights are presented by Film Nova Scotia and Empire Theatres four times a year, and allow audiences to see homegrown film productions and enables local filmmakers to promote their work.
