Premier Thanks Veterans
Premier Rodney MacDonald delivered a personal thank you today, Nov. 6, to veterans at Camp Hill Veteran's Memorial Building in Halifax.
"Sadly, each and every year, we lose more of our veterans. Nova Scotians should take the opportunity to thank veterans for the time they served at war," said Premier MacDonald. "Many of their comrades paid the ultimate sacrifice, losing their lives defending the freedoms we enjoy today."
With Remembrance Day next week, Premier MacDonald said it is imperative Nova Scotians show their support for veterans and Canadian military personnel.
"The mission in Afghanistan is a reminder of the dangers our Canadian soldiers are facing," said the premier. "Everyday they put their lives on the line."
On Remembrance Day, Premier MacDonald will attend the ceremony at the Grand Parade cenotaph in Halifax. He is urging other Nova Scotians to attend Remembrance Day events in their communities.
