InNOVAcorp Announces New Board Members and New Board Chair

Two new members have joined the board of InNOVAcorp, an internationally recognized organization that helps early stage technology companies in Nova Scotia commercialize products and services for export.

Susan McIsaac, a partner at McIsaac Darragh Chartered Accountants, and Jim White, vice-president of RBC's commercial financial services division, have joined the board.

Jacquelyn Thayer Scott has been re-appointed to the board and is the new board chair. Ms. Scott is principal of ResourceWorks Consulting, past president of Cape Breton University and a professor at the university's Shannon School of Business. She is also an Officer of the Order of Canada and is sought around the world for her business advice and expertise.

"Nova Scotians can be very proud of InNOVAcorp's impact and accomplishments. I look forward to continuing my work to ensure its continued positive impact on our economy," Ms. Scott said. "Much credit is owed to Colin Latham, who was a key contributor to the board's credibility and continuity of governance during his term as chair."

Mr. Latham, former president of Aliant Telecom, will move to the position of past chair.

Ms. McIsaac holds the prestigious fellowship (FCA) designation in recognition of her career accomplishments and her professional and community service. She has worked with Grant Thornton and teaches for the Provincial Institutes of Chartered Accountants.

Mr. White has 30 years experience in the financial services sector in risk management, human resources and operations. He has worked with various enterprises, from small businesses to some of RBC's largest private and publicly traded commercial and public sector clients in Atlantic Canada. He leads a team delivering quality, tailored business solutions to commercial clients throughout Halifax.
