D250 Launches Summer Concert Series Aboard HMCS Sackville

Democracy 250 will rock the Halifax waterfront aboard the HMCS Sackville this summer with a free concert series aimed at encouraging youth to celebrate 250 years of democratic government in Nova Scotia.

The concert series will run every Saturday from July 12 to Aug. 30 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. It will feature well-known Canadian recording artists and D250 youth ambassadors Dwight d'Eon, Jordan Croucher and Stephanie Hardy.

D250 is designed to help Canadian youth understand the importance of voting. Nova Scotia is the birthplace of Canadian democracy, holding the nation's very first legislative assembly on Oct. 2, 1758.

Concerts kick off on Saturday with a performance by Dwight d'Eon. There will be dockside viewing with limited seating. All ages are welcome to attend.
