Legislation Changes Name to Film Nova Scotia

Legislation introduced today, May 1, will officially change the name of the Crown corporation that supports the province's film and new media industry.

The new name for the Nova Scotia Film Development Corporation is Film Nova Scotia.

The name change follows consultations with employees, board members and industry stakeholders.

"The new name is more compelling, relevant and modern," said Ann MacKenzie, CEO of Film Nova Scotia.

Film Nova Scotia is a provincial Crown corporation reporting to the minister of economic development. The corporation provides a wide range of programs and services to build capacity and competitiveness of the province's film, television and new media industries.
