ICT Group Plans to Expand in Sydney, Has Key, New Partnership with Bell Mobility
Up to 200 new jobs will be created in Sydney with the expansion of ICT Group, Inc.
The company recently won a contract to provide client care support for Bell Mobility, the wireless arm of Bell Canada, Canada's largest communications company. Much of this new service work for Bell will be done at ICT Group's contact centre in Sydney.
The province, through Nova Scotia Business Inc., is supporting ICT Group's growth with a five-year payroll rebate of up to $1.4 million.
"ICT Group's long-running business in Nova Scotia is expanding through its new relationship with a leading Canadian business -- Bell Mobility," said Economic Development Minister Angus MacIsaac. "The investment demonstrates the province's commitment to helping world-class companies create quality employment in communities throughout Nova Scotia."
ICT Group's Sydney location, which opened in October 1998, was among the first large contact centres in Cape Breton. ICT Group employs more than 700 customer sales and service representatives in Nova Scotia with contact centres and home-based operations in Sydney, New Glasgow and Halifax.
"We are pleased with the skilled, educated workforce available in Nova Scotia, which we expect to leverage in the delivery of consistent, high-quality customer care support services on behalf of Bell," said John J. Brennan, chairman and CEO, ICT Group.
"We are excited to be working with a top-notch company like ICT Group to add to our service capabilities, and to be helping create as many as 200 new skilled jobs in Sydney," said Cameron McCuaig, vice-president, client care with Bell Mobility. "This announcement underlines Bell's commitment to providing our clients across the country with best-in-class service and support."
ICT Group's Nova Scotia operations are part of the company's global contact-centre business throughout North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia.
"Nova Scotia's contact-centre industry of leading, global businesses continues to compete on the world stage, and continues to mature here at home," said Stephen Lund, president and CEO of NSBI. "With existing business in three regions of Nova Scotia, this latest growth in Sydney is a further demonstration of ICT Group's success in the province."
