Atlantic Windows Expands

One of the largest window and door manufacturers in Eastern Canada is expanding in Nova Scotia. Atlantic All-Weather Windows Limited will create up to 200 jobs at its new Amherst location.

The province, through Nova Scotia Business Inc., has signed a five-year payroll rebate set at a maximum $1,198,800 with Atlantic Windows, paid out annually as the company achieves its hiring targets.

"Nova Scotia is the location of choice for expanding companies," said Economic Development Minister Angus MacIsaac. "Atlantic Windows is a growing export-based success story and Nova Scotia is a partner in its growth, providing real opportunities for people to live and work in the province."

Atlantic Windows already has strong market share in Nova Scotia and the rest of Atlantic Canada. The company's exports are growing into Quebec, Ontario, Bermuda, the Caribbean, Iceland and Spain. Atlantic Windows is also developing key markets for its hurricane-rated products.

"The business we're in demands proximity to major transportation links, a favourable business environment, and access to labour. Nova Scotia was a clear choice for our expansion," said Rob Miller, president and CEO of Atlantic Windows. "We're very excited to expand our footprint here in the province."
