Safety Efforts Recognized Nationally
Nova Scotia has safer workplaces thanks to the efforts by the Western Nova Scotia Chapter of the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering.
The chapter won the National Outstanding Service Award at the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering 2007 Canadian Safety Awards. The recognition is for the chapter's excellence in promoting the advancement of health and safety within Nova Scotia.
"I would like to congratulate the chapter for promoting and creating awareness of the importance of health and safety in the workplace," said Mark Parent, Minister of Environment and Labour. "There is no doubt, that its efforts are going a long way in creating an accident- and injury-free Nova Scotia."
The Canadian Society of Safety Engineering is a leading health, safety and environmental organization for professionals in Canada.
