Alternate Provincial Board Member Appointed
Tim Brownlow has been appointed as an alternate provincial member on the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Board.
Mr. Brownlow has 29 years experience in the oil and gas industry, including hands-on international and local work on drill rigs, and extensive experience in the formulation, analysis and implementation of regulations in the sector.
He has worked closely with all levels of government and industry, and has been affiliated with numerous committees and boards. He is a past chairman of the Offshore Onshore Technologies Association of Nova Scotia.
"Mr. Brownlow's extensive background and experience will be of great value in representing Nova Scotia's interests on the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Board," Energy Minister Bill Dooks said today, Aug. 16.
The board has five members -- two from the province, two appointed by the federal government, and a chair who is jointly appointed. The federal and provincial governments also appoint alternate members should primary appointments be unavailable for decisions.
Mr. Brownlow will be paid an annual retainer fee of $5,000 and $300 for each day spent on board business. His travel expenses will be reimbursed.
