$1.9-Million Road Paving Contract for Annapolis County
A $1,867,365 road-paving contract awarded by the Department of Transportation and Public Works will result in stronger, smoother roads in the Annapolis Valley.
Work has already started on the contract, awarded to Lafarge Canada Inc., for repaving of Route 201 from the intersection of Paradise Lane east for 9.5 kilometres to the intersection of Mount Hanley Road.
"This is a popular alternate route through the Valley," said Angus MacIsaac, Minister of Transportation and Public Works. "The province is working hard to get our roads back into good condition."
The Department of Transportation and Public Works' highways division manages more than 23,000 kilometres of roads in Nova Scotia. It maintains 4,100 bridges and operates seven provincial ferries. Staff provide services from district offices in Bridgewater, Bedford, Truro and Sydney.
