Tall Ships Kick-off Best Party of the Summer
Don't miss the best party of the summer – that was the key tip from Tall Ships Nova Scotia event organizers at the announcement of the entertainment line-up earlier today, June 21. Tickets are limited and going quickly.
"The waterfronts of Dartmouth and Halifax have something for everyone from ships to shore, and the only way to guarantee you're a part of it, is to get on board," said Festival Director David Jones. "For families, the daytime entertainment program and activities offer something for all ages, and in the evening the Tall Ships Nova Scotia Festival is going to rock the Halifax waterfront."
"The best way to have a true Tall Ships experience, is to board the ships, and stay for the show," said Marina Atwell, program director for the Tall Ships Festival.
Some of the scheduled performers include: 16-year-old Hunter Hayes and Louisiana Hot from Louisiana; specialized Tall Ships shows and concerts such as Squid's production; theme parties at the Cunard Centre, Canadian Idols Chad Doucette, Chris Labelle and Brandon Jones; as well as Tall Ship concert productions by Lennie Gallant and John Gracie; and Q-104 Battle of the Bands Winner Mike Trask and MudHill. A complete list of performers and a concert schedule are available at www.tallshipsnovascotia.ca . Ticket prices will range from $5 to $25 dollars per show.
The Downtown Dartmouth Business Community, the Waterfront Development Corporation, Alderney Landing, and Tall Ships Nova Scotia Festival 2007, will sponsor Kidz Zone – Pirates' Landing, A Family Experience. The family-focused venue is one of five festival entertainment zones designed for big and small pirates, during the much-anticipated return of Tall Ships to the Halifax Harbour, July 12–16.
The Tall Ships Nova Scotia Festival 2007 is presented by the Waterfront Development Corporation Limited. Funding for the festival is raised through public sector contributions, corporate sponsorship and support from the general public and tourists.
There will be more than three kilometres of fun and entertainment with something for everyone, old favourites, rising stars and international phenomenon will take the stage for this year's entertainment extravaganza. Boarding passes to get on board the ships are now on sale, and entitle people to discounts on entertainment and festival merchandise.
Tickets are on sale now, and available through the festival website www.tallshipsnovascotia.ca, or by calling 902-451-1221.
