New Online Library Services

Browse library content, request publications and ask the librarian questions online –- the new website for the Nova Scotia Advisory Council on the Status of Women allows you to do all that and more.

Visitors can print search results from the online catalogue and take the information to the nearest public library, or to a university library if you have a university card. This is a useful feature for the public, who must borrow items from the advisory council library through a public librarian.

The new website is easier to navigate and provides information and links on equality issues, education, employment, health, entering politics, and events. There is a special section for teenaged girls.

"This website is informative and offers one more way to reach out to women all across the province," said Carolyn Bolivar-Getson, minister responsible for the Advisory Council on the Status of Women Act.

Liz Chisholm, chair of the advisory council, said the website development took much planning, programming, design, and input from library patrons. "I believe our new site is welcoming and useful. I want to thank everyone who provided input," said Ms. Chisholm.
