Province Calls Tender for HRM Paving Project
Commuters, residents, and visitors in the Terence Bay area will soon be driving on smoother pavement thanks to a tender announced by the Department of Transportation and Public Works.
The tender is for repaving of Terence Bay Road from the intersection of Route 333 for 7.7 kilometres to the intersection of Back Bay Road and Sandy Cove Road. Also included is paving of Lower Prospect Road from the intersection of Terence Bay Road and Sandy Cove Road for 2.3 kilometres, and Lower Prospect Branch Road from the intersection of Lower Prospect Road for 0.3 kilometres to its end.
"We've been doing a lot of repaving on Route 333 during the last couple of years," said Jamie Muir, acting Minister of Transportation and Public Works. "This project will improve Terence Bay's connection to that route."
The Department of Transportation and Public Works' highways division manages more than 23,000 kilometres of roads in Nova Scotia. It maintains 4,100 bridges and operates seven provincial ferries. Staff provide services from district offices in Bridgewater, Bedford, Truro, and Sydney.
