Tenders Called for Guysborough County Paving Project
A scenic highway section around Chedabucto Bay will be smoother and stronger after the completion of a paving tender announced by the Department of Transportation and Public Works.
The tender is for repaving of Route 344 from the intersection of Trunk 16 at Boylston for 6.6 kilometres east to the intersection of MacPherson Lake Road. Also included is repaving of Trunk 16 from the intersection of Larrys River Road for 2.5 kilometres northerly to Church Street.
"Improving this connection to Trunk 16 will benefit residents and visitors alike," said Jamie Muir, acting Minister of Transportation and Public Works. "It's part of our aggressive plan to upgrade Nova Scotia's roadways."
The Department of Transportation and Public Works' highways division manages more than 23,000 kilometres of roads in Nova Scotia. It maintains 4,100 bridges and operates seven provincial ferries. Staff provide services from district offices in Bridgewater, Bedford, Truro, and Sydney.
