Tenders Called for Signals at Kearney Lake Road

A busy HRM intersection will be safer after the completion of a road-improvement tender announced by the province.

The Department of Transportation and Public Works called for tenders to install traffic signals and make other improvements at the intersection of Kearney Lake Road and the northbound off ramp from Highway 102.

"Traffic counts at this intersection are high enough now to warrant traffic signals," said Angus MacIsaac, Minister of Transportation and Public Works. "The signals will make this intersection safer for all users."

The project is scheduled for completion during the current construction season.

The Department of Transportation and Public Works' highways division manages more than 23,000 kilometres of roads in Nova Scotia. It maintains 4,100 bridges and operates seven provincial ferries. Staff provide services from district offices in Bridgewater, Bedford, Truro, and Sydney.
