Road-Paving Contract Awarded for Hants County

A $1,522,050 road-paving contract in Hants County has been awarded by the Department of Transportation and Public Works.

The contract was awarded to Cumberland Paving and Contracting Ltd. to repave Route 354 from the intersection of Findley Road for about 7.7 kilometres, to the intersection of Route 215 in Noel.

"This project is part of the department's efforts to restore Nova Scotia's highways to top shape," said Angus MacIsaac, Minister of Transportation and Public Works. "Route 354 provides an important link to the Noel Shore."

The Department of Transportation and Public Works' highways division manages more than 23,000 kilometres of roads in Nova Scotia. It maintains 4,100 bridges and operates seven provincial ferries. Staff provide services from district offices in Bridgewater, Bedford, Truro, and Sydney.
