Schedule Announced for Removal of Road Weight Restrictions

Weight restrictions for heavy truck traffic on some roads in the province are being removed over the next several days.

The restrictions are being removed in counties according to the following schedule:

Thursday, Apr. 26, 12:01 a.m.

• Yarmouth, Shelburne and Digby

Sunday, Apr. 29, 12:01 a.m.

• Queens, Annapolis, Lunenburg, Kings, Hants and Halifax

Wednesday, May 2, 12:01 a.m.

• Cumberland, Colchester, Pictou, Antigonish and Guysborough

Monday, May 7, 12:01 a.m.

• Richmond, Inverness, Victoria and Cape Breton

The Department of Transportation and Public Works places the restrictions on to help protect roads weakened by mild, wet weather, and to ensure safe driving conditions.
