Acadian Lines Applies To Amend Fares
Acadian Intercity Coaches LP and Acadian Coach Lines LP have applied to the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board to increase its rates.
The company has requested an average one-way fare increase of 2.9 per cent throughout its 52 "zones of distance."
A Utility and Review Board hearing will be held concurrent with a hearing by the New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board on May 9 at 10:30 a.m. at the Municipal Council Chambers, 110 Main St., Sackville, N.B.
Joint hearings of the two Boards alternate between the two provinces. Last year, concurrent hearings of the two Boards were held in Amherst, respecting other applications by the same carriers.
People who want to present evidence or cross-examine witnesses should file notice with the board by May 2. Members of the public not able to attend the Sackville, N.B., hearing can take part in a telephone conference call. Names and phone numbers should be provided to the board by May 2.
People who want to comment on the proposed amendments to Motor Carrier Licence No. 244 and Extra-provincial Operating Licence No. X261 can do so by letter to the Clerk of the Board, P.O. Box 1692, Unit M, Halifax, N.S., B3J 3S3; by e-mail to [email protected]; by fax to 902-424-3919; or by calling the clerk at 902-424-4448.
