Flags Will be Lowered at Province House for Corporal Megeney

Flags at the legislature will be lowered to half mast out of respect for Cpl. Kevin Megeney, a reserve member of the 1st Battalion Nova Scotia Highlanders, who succumbed to a gunshot wound earlier today, March 6, while serving at Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan.

"Our sympathies go to Cpl. Megeney's family during this difficult time," said Premier Rodney MacDonald.

The premier also extends sympathies on behalf of the government and the people of Nova Scotia to Cpl. Megeney's comrades -- the men and women of the Canadian Forces who are deployed to Afghanistan as part of the NATO mission.
