Toll Free Number and Poster
The Office of African Nova Scotian Affairs is commemorating African Heritage Month by launching two new initiatives that will help connect more Nova Scotians to the office.
A toll free number was up and running as of Thursday, Feb. 1.
"Large segments of the African Nova Scotian population live outside of metro so there is a need to make sure the work of the office is available for all," said Barry Barnet, Minister of the Office of African Nova Scotian Affairs. "The toll free number will allow communities access to the office from the remotest regions across the province without them incurring long distance charges."
The number is 1-866-580-ANSA (2672) and will be answered during business hours and have a voice mail box for calls after hours.
The office's second initiative to launch this month is the African Nova Scotian Affairs poster.
"Many of our community groups have been asking us for a poster they can prominently display in their offices. We now have one to offer them," said African Nova Scotian Affairs CEO, Wayn Hamilton. "It is an innovative and creative promotional item that is a perfect complement to our brochure, website and information booklet".
The poster features the office's contact information, mission and logo.
