Paving Project Scheduled for Hants County
Drivers in the Kennetcook area will soon be travelling on smoother, stronger pavement thanks to a road-paving tender announced by the Department of Transportation and Public Works.
The tender is for repaving on Route 354 from the intersection of Findley Road south for about 6.4 kilometres toward Kennetcook.
"Upgrading the province's highways is one of the top priorities of this government," said Angus MacIsaac, Minister of Transportation and Public Works. "Our road paving budget has quadrupled since 1999."
The Department of Transportation and Public Works' highways division manages more than 23,000 kilometres of roads in Nova Scotia. It maintains 4,100 bridges and operates seven provincial ferries. Staff provide services from district offices in Bridgewater, Bedford, Truro and Sydney.
