Inmate Death at Correctional Facility

An inmate at the Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility passed away suddenly on the evening of Sunday, July 9.

The inmate collapsed in a common area of the facility and was taken to hospital where he subsequently died. Immediate family have been notified.

Facility officials will conduct a review into the death. Police and the chief medical examiner have also been notified.

The Department of Justice expresses sincere sympathy to the family for their loss.
