Tender Called for Paving in Yarmouth County
Drivers who use Route 340 between Yarmouth and Digby counties will be travelling on a stronger, smoother road after the completion of a paving project tendered by the Department of Transportation and Public Works.
The tender is for repaving on Route 340 from the intersection of Route 203 in Carleton for about seven kilometres toward the Yarmouth-Digby county line. The closing date for the tender is Friday, May 26.
"We tendered two paving jobs on Route 340 last year," said Angus MacIsaac, Minister of Transportation and Public Works. "This project is part of our ongoing effort to keep this important connection in top shape."
The Department of Transportation and Public Works' highways division manages more than 23,000 kilometres of roads in Nova Scotia. It maintains 4,100 bridges and operates seven provincial ferries. Staff provide services from district offices in Bridgewater, Bedford, Truro and Sydney.
