Paving Project Scheduled in Victoria County

Drivers in the Englishtown area of Victoria County will have a smoother link to the Englishtown Ferry once a road-paving project scheduled by the province is completed this summer.

The Department of Transportation and Public Works has announced a tender for repaving on Highway 105 from Exit 11 at South Haven for 4.2 kilometres to Exit 12 near Englishtown. The closing date is Tuesday, May 30.

"Drivers on Highway 105 at South Heaven can get on the Cabot Trail here or continue on to the Englishtown Ferry," said Angus MacIsaac, Minister of Transportation and Public Works. "This project will improve the condition of the road heading to the ferry."

The Department of Transportation and Public Works' highways division manages more than 23,000 kilometres of roads in Nova Scotia. It maintains 4,100 bridges and operates seven provincial ferries. Staff provide services from offices in Bridgewater, Bedford, Truro and Sydney.
