Tender Called for Paving in Yarmouth County

A busy section of Trunk 3 near the Town of Yarmouth will be smoother and safer after the completion of a paving project tendered by the Department of Transportation and Public Works.

The tender involves repaving on Trunk 3 from the intersection of Chebogue Road east for 2.9 kilometres to the intersection of Dominique Road. The closing date for the tender is Friday, May 26.

"Sewer work and patches over the years have affected the riding quality of this section," said Angus MacIsaac, Minister of Transportation and Public Works. "This project will return this section to top shape."

The Department of Transportation and Public Works' highways division manages more than 23,000 kilometres of roads in Nova Scotia. It maintains 4,100 bridges and operates seven provincial ferries. Staff provide services from district offices in Bridgewater, Bedford, Truro and Sydney.
