ADP Canada is Growing in Nova Scotia

Nova Scotia Business Inc. (Dec. 2004 - Nov. 2022)

ADP Canada (ADP) is expanding its Halifax operations and will hire up to 175 employees over the next three years.

The company is Canada's leading provider of outsourced employer services, such as payroll and human resources. Nova Scotia Business Inc. (NSBI) is helping ADP with the expansion through a three-year payroll rebate of a maximum $898,625.

Economic Development Minister Kerry Morash announced the expansion today, April 18, along with Rod Dobson, president of ADP Canada, and Stephen Lund, president and CEO of NSBI.

"ADP's expansion will have a positive economic impact as it opens up new, professional opportunities that require specific skills and pay well," said Mr. Morash. "ADP offers the kind of positions that suit our talented and highly educated Nova Scotia workforce."

The minimum average salary for these new positions is expected to be about $39,500 including benefits. ADP currently has 70 full-time employees in Nova Scotia, and the positions announced today will bring the total workforce up to 245 full-time staff over the next three years.

"ADP Canada has a 10-year history in Halifax, and our commitment to the city and province is clearly demonstrated by our plans for further expansion," said Mr. Dobson. "More and more, companies big and small, are seeing the value in leaving the administrative side of their business to the experts at ADP, and to keep up with this demand, we're growing in Halifax."

To accommodate its growth in Nova Scotia, ADP will move to a larger location in Dartmouth in mid-June.

Working with companies like ADP is part of NSBI's strategy to help create higher-paying positions by attracting outsourcing businesses.

"ADP's growth in the province is a win for everyone: Nova Scotians and the company," said Mr. Lund. "ADP and other leading business process outsourcing companies are growing with the global demand for competitive business services. Nova Scotia offers these companies the right business location and skilled workforce for their growth."
