Paving Contract Awarded for Eastern Shore
A $1.2-million paving contract for the Eastern Shore has been announced by the Department of Transportation and Public Works.
The $1,207,600 contract was awarded to Dexter Construction to repave Trunk 7 from the Newcombes Brook Bridge for 5.9 kilometres to Dewolfes Road. The work is scheduled for completion by the end of August.
"The views along Marine Drive are second to none," said Angus MacIsaac, Minister of Transportation and Public Works. "Not only will this work benefit local residents but it will also help visitors explore this scenic gem."
The Department of Transportation and Public Works' highways division manages more than 23,000 kilometres of roads in Nova Scotia. It maintains 4,100 bridges and operates seven provincial ferries. Staff provide services from district offices in Bridgewater, Bedford, Truro and Sydney.
