Nova Scotia to Host Energy Council Meetings
The Energy Council is coming to Halifax in June and Energy Minister Bill Dooks is promising to share information about renewable and non-renewable energy in the region.
Council members will be meeting in Nova Scotia from June 22 to 25 to discuss state and provincial trends in energy and the environment.
"There is tremendous opportunity to discuss Nova Scotia's offshore and onshore and the new and emerging developments in renewable energy," said Mr. Dooks. "We also want to showcase our province to delegates from around the world."
The Energy Council allows provincial, state and local government leaders and energy industry executives to discuss emerging themes in the industry. Nova Scotia, Alberta, British Columbia and Newfoundland and Labrador are represented as well as Venezuela and 10 American states.
"Although the leadership of the Energy Council has visited Nova Scotia repeatedly, this will be our first opportunity to bring the entire council to the province," said Energy Council chair John Smith of Louisiana. "We expect to have all 10 states and four Canadian provinces represented as we discuss provincial and state trends in energy and environmental policy."
