Road Improvement Contract Awarded For Shelburne County

A $308,130 contract for road improvements in Shelburne County has been announced by the Department of Transportation and Public Works.

The contract was awarded to Aberdeen Paving Ltd. and involves the installation of traffic signals and other improvements to the intersection of Trunk 3 and Route 330 near Barrington Passage.

"Road safety is the top priority at Transportation and Public works," said Angus MacIsaac, Minister of Transportation and Public Works. "The new signals will help make the intersection safer and shorten the time drivers from Route 330 have to wait to enter Trunk 3."

The Department of Transportation and Public Works' highways division manages more than 23,000 kilometres of roads in Nova Scotia. It maintains 4,100 bridges and operates seven provincial ferries. Staff provide services from district offices in Bridgewater, Bedford, Truro and Sydney.
