New Sergeant-at-Arms
Captain Kenneth Greenham of Millwood, in Halifax Regional Municipality, is the new sergeant-at-arms of the Nova Scotia House of Assembly.
An all-party committee and the former Speaker of the House of Assembly, Murray Scott, were involved in the interview and selection process. Their decision was announced today, March 3, in a special one-day session of the House of Assembly.
Capt. Greenham's career in the Canadian Armed Forces, the Reserves and Corps of Commissionaires spans more than 48 years.
For the last five years, he has been detail commander of the commissionaires employed at Province House.
The position of sergeant-at-arms for the first time combines long-standing ceremonial duties with new comprehensive security responsibilities.
