Province Mourns Death of Cpl. Paul James Davis

Premier's Office

Premier Rodney MacDonald today, March 2, offered condolences, on behalf of all Nova Scotians, to the family of the late Cpl. Paul James Davis of Bridgewater.

"Few of us can imagine what the family, friends and colleagues of Cpl. Davis are going through at this time," said Premier MacDonald. "We can only offer to them our thoughts and prayers as they recall the life and service of this dedicated soldier who died helping to bring peace to a troubled country. Like his family, we too are proud of his brave military service to Canada."

Out of respect for Cpl. Davis, the premier announced that flags at both Province House and the provincial buildings in Bridgewater will be lowered to half-mast.

Cpl. Davis was killed today in an accident while on duty in Kandahar, Afghanistan. He was 28 years old.
