Comment Sought on Gambling Research Project

Nova Scotians have an opportunity to provide written comment on the terms of a proposed study into gambling in the province.

A draft copy of the request for proposals for the study was made available today, March 1, by the Department of Environment and Labour.

The study, which is to assess and understand the social and economic impacts of gambling in Nova Scotia, is a commitment of the provincial Gaming Strategy and will put Nova Scotia at the forefront of gambling research in Canada.

The department is seeking comments from interested parties, including potential bidders, to ensure the requirements in the request for proposals are clear and complete.

The draft request for proposals is available on the department's website at www.gov.ns.ca/enla/dept/study/ .

Responses must be provided in writing by Wednesday, March 15. All comments will be reviewed.

Responses from potential bidders will not be included in the bid evaluation process.
