Road Weight Restrictions Lifted Temporarily in 15 Counties

Spring weight restrictions are being temporarily removed from roads in most Nova Scotia counties.

Effective 12:01 a.m. Friday, Feb. 10, the Department of Transportation and Public Works is temporarily lifting spring weight restrictions on all roads in Annapolis, Antigonish, Cape Breton, Colchester, Cumberland, Guysborough, Halifax, Hants, Inverness, Kings, Lunenburg, Pictou, Queens, Richmond, and Victoria counties.

Weight restrictions remain in effect in the counties of Digby, Shelburne, and Yarmouth.

All temporary restrictions will be put back in place at 12:01 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 14, unless otherwise announced by the Department of Transportation and Public Works.

Updated information on future road openings and closures is available on the Department of Transportation and Public Works website at www.gov.ns.ca/tran .

Transportation and Public Works staff will continue to monitor conditions to determine the level of frost in the roads.
