Road Weight Restrictions On Again Provincewide

Provincial road weight restrictions will be put back in place effective 6 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 4, in all counties throughout Nova Scotia.

The weight restrictions are necessary because mild temperatures and a lack of frost in the ground are making provincial roads more susceptible to damage from heavy trucks.

Department of Transportation and Public Works staff are monitoring provincial roads to determine their level of frost and have been lifting restrictions whenever possible.

Updated information on future road openings and closures, is available on the Department of Transportation and Public Works website at www.gov.ns.ca/tran .
