Spring weight restrictions are being temporarily removed from roads in six more Nova Scotia counties.
Effective immediately, the Department of Transportation and Public Works is temporarily lifting spring weight restrictions on all roads in Halifax, Hants, Annapolis, Queens, Kings, and Lunenburg counties.
Restrictions have already been lifted for Cumberland, Colchester, Pictou, Guysborough, Antigonish, Richmond, Inverness, Cape Breton, and Victoria.
All temporary restrictions will be put back in place at 6 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 4, unless otherwise announced by the Department of Transportation and Public Works.
Spring weight restrictions remain in effect until further notice in the counties of Yarmouth, Shelburne, and Digby.
Updated information on future road openings and closures, is available on the Department of Transportation and Public Works website at www.gov.ns.ca/tran .
Transportation and Public Works staff will continue to monitor conditions to determine the level of frost in the roads. If the weather turns colder to the point that the roads are frozen and no damage can occur, then spring weight restrictions will be removed.
