Mild Wet Weather Brings Weight Restrictions

A combination of spring-like conditions and saturated roadbeds have left many Nova Scotia gravel roads too soft for heavy vehicles.

Roadways become vulnerable to damage from heavy trucks as frost leaves the ground.

The Department of Transportation and Public Works has begun posting weight restriction signs for vehicles over 5,000 kilograms.

A forecast for colder weather next week should result in the removal of weight restrictions.
