New Advertising Website Launched

Nova Scotians can now read and hear provincial government advertising any time they want on a new website that was launched today, Dec. 22.

Advertisements include information on new programs, services, public tender announcements, employment opportunities, public meetings, and notices. For example, there are ads on everything from the winter parking ban to energy saving tips. The website includes the entire copy of the ad, including artwork. Audio files from radio and television advertisements can also be heard on the site.

The website includes new advertisements and archived ads from the last year prepared by advertising services, a section of Communications Nova Scotia.

Minister of Communications Nova Scotia Ernest Fage said the new website benefits consumers and advertisers because ads are now accessible all the time to Internet users.

"This new feature enhances the job of informing Nova Scotians. People now have another, convenient way to find out what programs and services the government offers."

Communications Nova Scotia assistant deputy minister Laura Lee Langley said advertisers benefit from the new website because their messages are now available all the time.

"Our clients are trying to reach as many people as they can and this new website makes it possible for their messages to be seen, and in some cases heard, any time."

The website is available at www.gov.ns.ca/cmns/advertising .
