Tender Call in Early 2006 for Coxheath Interchange

Work on the final stages of the Highway 125-Coxheath interchange project near Sydney will resume in the spring of 2006.

Tenders will be called in the early months of 2006 and work will begin in the spring to realign Cantley Creek.

Work will continue throughout the summer to complete the ramps and final paving.

The Department of Transportation and Public Works has obtained the necessary permits to complete the project, but Fisheries and Oceans Canada has requested revisions to the original design for the Cantley Creek alignment.

In addition to the creek realignment, the remaining work involves the construction of one more ramp and the paving of all four ramps for the interchange. The interchange is expected to be open to traffic in the fall of 2006.
