Public Meetings on Heritage
African Nova Scotians are being asked for their opinion on a new provincial heritage strategy.
The Office of African Nova Scotian Affairs is holding a series of focus group meetings on behalf of the Voluntary Planning Task Force on Heritage.
"It is an opportunity for African Nova Scotians to be involved in the early stages of a strategy that will plan the future of heritage programming in this province," said Wayn Hamilton, CEO of African Nova Scotia Affairs.
These sessions are being held to get the communities' response on what heritage in Nova Scotia will look like for the next generation.
"A strong and definitive declaration of what African Nova Scotians cherish most about their heritage will provide decision makers with the information they need to make the important strategic decisions for the future," said Mr. Hamilton.
