Night Work on Highway 118
Dexter Construction will be working overnight for the next three or four weeks building the interchange at Highway 118.
Trucks are hauling material from one side of the highway to the other over a temporary bridge. Local residents may hear the trucks' back-up alarms, which are a required safety measure.
The Department of Transportation and Public Works requested that a temporary bridge be built over Highway 118 so traffic would not be disrupted by trucks crossing the highway throughout the day and night. The bridge is also safer for motorists and construction crews as large trucks crossing the highway are a potential hazard.
The contractor is taking advantage of the recent good weather to move large quantities of fill required to build the highway subgrade.
