Oyster Pond School to be Re-tendered

Education (July 1999 - March 2013)

Tenders will be reissued for the construction of a new Grade Primary to 9 school on the Eastern Shore.

Earlier bids on the Oyster Pond Academy came in about $2 million over budget.

A site preparation tender will be issued on Wednesday, Sept. 7, and is scheduled to close on Wednesday, Sept. 21. Work should begin in October.

A separate tender will be issued later in the year for the mechanical, electrical and construction work.

Oyster Pond Academy, estimated to cost $12 million, will accommodate 650 students, replace four existing schools in the region, and reduce overcrowding at Gaetz Brook Junior High.
