Extra Caution Needed on Long Weekend
Traffic on Nova Scotia highways is expected to be busier than normal during the upcoming Labour Day weekend, and motorists are urged to use extra caution on the province's roads.
The Labour Day weekend is usually one of the busiest times on Nova Scotia highways. This particular weekend will be even busier with good weather predicted and more than 20,000 Nova Scotians expected to be heading to the Rolling Stones concert in Moncton.
The Department of Transportation and Public Works has been consulting with the RCMP, who will be providing extra patrols on Highway 104 between Truro and Amherst. The Cobequid Pass toll plaza will have all gates operating but delays may still occur.
Drivers in Nova Scotia, even those not heading to the concert, should be alert and patient, and allow extra time when travelling this weekend.
